The quality of paid employment in China needs to be raised if economic growth in the country is to improve, a new report has concluded.
According to China Daily, the paper from the Labor Market Research Center at the Beijing Normal University revealed the overall quality of employment in the country is still lacking,
Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin were found to be the top three cities in terms of employment quality and professor at the university Lai Desheng said more needs to be done, stating: "Poor employment quality in China is a major reason for the poor quality of economic growth."
China is currently the word's second biggest economy behind the US - having overtaken Japan in early 2011 - and the country is likely to be an important issue in the upcoming 2012 US presidential election.
According to the news source, investment from China - a country that has been criticized by many Republican Party candidates - is helping to develop jobs in the US.
