Further growth in Singapore jobs market
The Singapore jobs market has experienced further growth, according to new statistics released for 2011.

Women and older residents are said by the Ministry of Manpower, which published the data, to be the main drivers of the employment boom in the Asian nation.

It is said that the total number of economically-active people in Singapore this June, compared with 2010, rose by 1.6 per cent.

When looking only at older people, it was noted that a record 61.2 per cent of people aged between 55 and 64 had a job this year, with this figure increasing from 59 per cent 12 months earlier.

And women did their bit for the economy too, with 71.7 per cent of ladies of a prime working age (25 to 54) in employment, its highest level in history.

The Ministry of Manpower recently revealed that the number of people in Singapore who were employed in the third quarter rose by 32,300.
