Malaysia's strong economy means it is in a good position to create jobs for its citizens.
That is according to prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who said that after visiting the Asean Summit in Bali, he is pleased the nation is growing at an encouraging rate.
Speaking at the Barisan Nasional Youth Job Fair Grand Finale 2011, Mr Razak stated: "We are lucky we are in the category of a country going through economic growth but is able to create jobs."
He added that this is in contrast to the US and several European nations including Spain and Italy, which are seeing their economies stagnate and are struggling to create jobs for their citizens as a result.
The prime minister went on to add that Malaysia can achieve as much as six per cent growth this year.
According to the official Malaysian news agency Bernama, the country's government plans to increase the salaries earned by migrant workers next year.
