The number of people from overseas who are applying for work visas to go to Singapore has increased year-on-year between 2010 and 2011, according to latest figures.
Singapore's Rikvin has reported that in the space of just 12 months there was a rise of 25.7 per cent in the number of people who are looking to head overseas to work in the country.
Despite the fact that higher requirements for immigration to the country were brought in during July of last year, there has still been a demand for people who wish to go to work there.
Last month, Manpower Ministry reported that the number of people in employment in Singapore in the third quarter of last year was 31,900 higher than in the month before.
Mr. Satish Bakhda, Rikvin's head of operations, told the San Francisco Gate: " The higher educational, experiential and salary bars have not deterred highly-qualified professionals, especially those from ailing European and US economies, from going after a chance to work or set up a company in Singapore."
