An online service in China which offers retired military officers the chance to get training which helps them back into employment after they leave their positions has been hailed as a success by the country's minister of human resources.
Yin Weimin said at a workers' conference in Beijing on Thursday that the of those who had retired in the past year, 95 per cent had used the service in order to help them find gainful employment if they choose not to take up the offer of a governmental role.
This amounts to over 40,000 officers, with the website being targeted mainly at those who are looking to start their own businesses, according to China Daily.
Many choose this role because they receive higher pension payments if they choose not take up a job with the government.
China was recently criticised over its plans to phase out all college majors which do not directly link to the labor market.
