Our client is a start up shared services that is currently looking to expand. They have a strong regional presence across Asia..

about the role

This is a newly created role that will be reporting to the function lead and will have 8 subordinates. This team of 8 will be managing the payroll for 1000 headcounts across Asia primarily Indonesia. Our client uses SAP software system to manage their payroll


  • Process time and attendance data in SAP system.
  • Monitor time interface and manual time sheet entry.
  • Enter and process payroll data into the SAP system.
  • Handle employees’ requests and queries received via phone and email.
  • Process Payroll reconciliations to identify discrepancies.
  • Process Payroll on SAP system as per the defined Payroll calendar.
  • Manage work cover and claims and post month end journals.
  • Manage bank transactions for payment disbursement.
  • Process tax and payments as per the defined rules and operating procedures.
  • Provide post-payroll payment processing support.
  • Support pay slip printing & distribution via soft copy when needed.
  • Adhere to Payroll checklist throughout the process and confirm all necessary checks and controls
  • have been applied.
  • Perform post payroll reporting and support clarifications from retained teams.

skills & experience

  • We are looking for someone who is ideally working in a shared services environment (however this is not compulsory)
  • You must have experience managing a team of 3-5
  • Having hands on experience using SAP system is crucial for this role
  • As this role will be supporting the Indonesian market, speaking Bahasa Indonesia will have an added advantage if not strong proficiency is Bahasa Malaysia is a must.
