Job Purpose: As the Actuarial Manager for Life and Takaful Insurance, you will play a key role in steering the actuarial function to support the strategic goals of the company. You will be responsible for leading a team of actuaries, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of actuarial models, and providing valuable insights to drive business decisions.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of actuarial models for life and takaful insurance products.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Regularly review and enhance models to incorporate the latest industry trends and company-specific data.
- Collaborate with product development teams to design new life and takaful insurance products.
- Conduct pricing analyses and profitability assessments for new and existing products.
- Provide recommendations for product enhancements and adjustments based on actuarial assessments.
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial reports related to life and takaful insurance portfolios.
- Provide accurate and timely reports to senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and guidelines.
- Assess and quantify the risks associated with life and takaful insurance portfolios.
- Work closely with risk management teams to develop strategies for mitigating identified risks.
- Provide insights into the overall risk profile of the company.
- Manage and mentor a team of actuaries, providing guidance and support for professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within the actuarial team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to succession planning.
- Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements related to life and takaful insurance.
- Ensure that actuarial practices align with regulatory standards and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent qualification.
- Extensive experience in the life and takaful insurance industry, with a focus on actuarial functions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of actuarial principles, modeling techniques, and regulatory requirements.
