about the company

Our client is a mid-sized property development and construction company with large-scale infrastructure and residential projects across Malaysia with a combined order book and GDV in excess of RM1.5 billion.

about the job

  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Assist the Finance Manager & Assistant Accountant/Group Accountant on AP & AR activities including preparing AP & AR reports.
  • Prepare costing and other ledger reporting as and when required.
  • Provide accurate and timely management information for decision making.
  • Ensure the team provides timely reporting of AP & AR reconciliation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely deduction (Debit Notes raised) to suppliers/sub-cons.
  • Guide/lead AP members to achieve 100% KPI of accruals and payments.
  • Ensure the operational activities comply with the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the Finance activities and Financial Accounts are in accordance with the statutory requirements and tax compliance.
  • Administer and ensure effective accounting procedures including credit control and AR monitoring.
  • Liaise with Bankers, Auditors, Tax Agents, Lawyer and Government Bodies on finance and admin related matters.
  • Monitor and control unsafe practices for head office.
  • Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures required by the QHS Management System.
  • Undertake any duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate superior.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, he is a hands-on person who has been in the industry for a substantial amount of years. He believes in delivering results with minimal supervision. The team works well and has a good team spirit.

skills & experience required

  • Degree/Professional Certification in Finance/Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Well Organized, detailed, analytical, systematic, and cost-conscious.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 standards in the construction industry will be an added advantage.
  • A high degree of compliance and computer literate.
