Our organization, a leading player in the financial technology industry, is seeking a dedicated Compliance Manager for our Payment Services division. As part of our international compliance team in Malaysia, the successful candidate will support our global operations and report to the Head of Business Compliance. We are searching for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable compliance professional with a strong background in global payments. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, business partners, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance, meet business objectives, and navigate the evolving regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
... - Play a central role in the Payment Services compliance team, overseeing regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Act as the primary contact point for interactions with various regulatory and enforcement agencies.
- Stay updated on relevant regulatory developments in the payments and remittance sector, providing insights on potential challenges or implications.
- Lead and support the application process for payment licenses and similar Fintech-related permits.
- Establish and manage an effective compliance program, implementing a system of controls.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure overall compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.
- Facilitate regulatory or external audits and assessments in cooperation with stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in regulatory compliance, with a preference for those having worked in e-commerce, payments, or financial services.
- Profound knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly in the payments and remittance sector.
- Familiarity with FINTECH, payment systems, money transmitter licensing, and similar legal and regulatory demands is a plus.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and an excellent team player with strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese for effective communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
- Occasional business travel may be required.
