As the Director of Corporate Finance, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the corporate finance strategy of a leading property development company in Malaysia. You will be responsible for driving the financial strategy, capital structure, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investment analysis, and overall financial health of the organization. The role demands a high level of strategic thinking, financial acumen, and leadership skills to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the development and execution of the corporate finance strategy to align with the company’s business objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and provide insights on business performance, profitability, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure alignment of financial strategy with corporate goals and market dynamics.
Capital Management & Fundraising
- Oversee and manage the company’s capital structure, ensuring optimal financing strategies to support property developments, acquisitions, and other business activities.
- Lead capital raising initiatives, including debt and equity financing, through strategic relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Evaluate funding requirements and manage the company’s relationships with financial partners to ensure cost-effective financing solutions.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities to support the company’s expansion and strategic growth initiatives.
- Lead the execution of M&A transactions, including due diligence, financial modeling, and post-deal integration.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on market trends and company objectives.
Investor Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key investors, analysts, and stakeholders to effectively communicate the company’s financial performance, growth strategy, and investment opportunities.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and business updates to the board of directors, investors, and external stakeholders.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Oversee the identification and management of financial risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Work closely with the internal audit team to ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a high-performing corporate finance team, ensuring the development of talent and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the finance department.
Corporate Governance
- Provide strategic guidance to the board and senior management on corporate governance and financial reporting practices.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and maintain transparency in all financial reporting.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or professional qualifications such as CFA, CPA, ACCA would be advantageous).
Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in corporate finance, with a significant portion spent in leadership roles in the property development or real estate sector.
- Proven track record in capital management, M&A, financial strategy, and investment analysis within the property development industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Malaysian financial market, banking system, and regulatory landscape.
- Experience in managing relationships with investors, financial institutions, and government agencies.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
