about the company

Our client is a mid-sized property development company with 3 high-rise residential projects across Klang Valley with a combined GDV in excess of RM900 million. The company plans to launch 3 new projects in the year 2021/2022.

about the job

  • Coordinate and produce consolidated accounts for the group, maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Liaise with contracts/operation on projections of project cash flow, budget, payment, claims, and expenses, to maintain a healthy financial situation.
  • Liaise with the financial institutions, procurement, and monitoring of banking facilities.
  • Liaise with various authorities e.g. Income tax, tax agent, auditors, etc.
  • Oversee monthly and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts.
  • Develop and maintain the integrity of the financial reporting process and financial controls.
  • Develop and maintain Group accounting policies.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements to ensure compliance with Statutory Requirements.
  • Provide technical support in terms of accounting to the Finance Team. Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.
  • Coordinate the Company’s annual audit with the independent auditors and prepare an annual report.

about the manager/team

Reporting to the CFO, he is a hands-on person who has been in the industry for a substantial amount of years. He believes in delivering results with minimal supervision. You will be managing a team of 4, covering 6 subsidiaries (3 active projects + 3 projects under planning). The team works well and has a good team spirit.

skills & experience required

  • ACCA/CPA/Degree in Accounting with professional qualifications in CIMA, MIA, or MICPA.
  • Malaysian resident with a minimum of 10 years in financial accounting and management with at least 5 years of experience in a property development company managing project accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience in project cash flow projection. Those with experience in treasury functions will be an added advantage.
  • Analytical, creative, solution-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiating, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Possess business acumen to interact well with staff, bankers, and clients.
