about the job

As a member of the Management for the Malaysian entities, key roles include financial analysis, budgeting, costing, and accounting support. You will be involved in the business, advises management and operational managers on business decisions, internal controls and areas for improvements. In addition, you will ensure the functional areas of corporate administration and management services such as finance, accounting, systems and procedures operate efficiently to provide effective support to the company.

  • Performs financial analysis of performance including variance analysis, and provides feedback to management on performance
  • Coordinates budgeting, forecast exercise with line managers, manage the true-up reconciliations of costs, supervise costing and financial analysis,.
  • Developing key financial indicators (KPI) to measure the performance of the Business Units within the group.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and monitor actual results against budgets
  • Participate in the preparation of capital expenditure plans and annual budgets for business areas.
  • Initiates reviews and recommends process improvements particularly in areas where there is a financial impact, oversee the preparation of all management and financial reports including sales, productions, profit and loss, budget reconciliation, cash budget, balance sheet, reconciliation of capital additions and debtor and creditor summaries.
  • Oversee projects and analysis of company operations as required to assist management in the review of operating expenses and efficiency
  • Liaison officer to attend to financial information requests from local regulatory authorities, internal and external audit queries as and when necessary
  • Proactively identify, propose and implement continuous improvement opportunities in existing processes within the team.
  • Ensure financial data integrity by continuously evaluating, such as, the accounting policies and workflow while ensuring a sound internal control policies are developed and are adhered to in a manner that will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws

Skills and experience required

You, as the aspiring candidate should possess:

  • 10 years of relevant MNC/SSC experience in an appropriate management role
  • Qualified accountant with degree or accounting qualifications
  • Proven experience to develop, implement and communicate financial strategies to drive best practices and provide guidance on related matters to the key stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in Business Support, Management Reporting, FP&A and accounting.
  • Positive, approachable and confident with ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Strong financial skills to analyse financial statements and operating financial ratios
  • Good communication skills and results-driven mindset
