about the job

• Ownership and Accountability for delivering accurate, robust and timely US GAAP Financial Statements, validated through regular internal and external audits.
• Lead the monthly review process through analysis and insight of the underlying business in the respective affiliates, incorporating in the preparation and presentation of monthly accounts to Senior Finance leadership
• Partner with Affiliate Finance Manager on local statutory and tax matters to ensure accurate and holistic financial statements.
• Act as advisor/subject matter expert on complex accounting treatment.
• Build Relationships with key stakeholders across the Company to develop business acumen, commercial awareness across a broad base of business - Affiliate Financial Director, Shared Service Center (SSC), Affiliate Business Teams and Leadership and Other Corporate Functions.
• Influence and Drive Process Improvement and Efficiency across the business and SSC.
• Act as the Affiliate Advocate for governing SSC performance including Service Level Agreements (SLAs), metrics and measures.
• Partner with the Global Process Owners to drive business process re‐engineering and process standardisation.
• Leading the communication of financial information to all non‐financial stakeholders.
• Partner with Affiliate Finance Director to design and maintain appropriate, right sized resourcing levels to provide optimum financial solutions.
• Business Continuity Planning ensuring continuous and consistent service delivery
• Provide technical training, coaching, mentoring for SSC and stakeholders.

Skills and experience required

• Qualified Accountant with at least 10 years of experience in financial accounting & reporting, compliance and controls across commercial line and shared services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS accounting standards, Internal controls and all relevant financial processes
• Strong knowledge in SAP system.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
• Performance driven – seeks and acts on results
• High self‐awareness and ability to operate effectively in a multi‐cultural and multi‐lingual environment.
• Has the ability to influence and establish credibility, trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
• Has the ability to recognise changing needs and prioritise activities accordingly to complete assigned projects and meet defined objectives and milestone
• Independent forward thinker on process improvement and capable of problem solving and conflict resolution
• Works well under pressure
