about our client

A leading life sciences company, continuing their successful efforts in bridging the gap between the sector and their clients in the medical industry, is seeking a Financial Controller (Regional) to play a major role in managing the company’s finances.

This role will report directly to the CFO.

about the role

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department at the regional office and also subsidiaries.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.
  • Review all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Evaluate and enhance process and systems to prevent errors in data collection and reporting
  • Review and support month-end and year-end close process and ensure reporting deadlines are met
  • Review and ensure balance sheet reconciliation are done on a periodic basis and any discrepancies are rectified on a timely basis
  • Identify accounting and financial issues and suggest timely solutions
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to manage working capital
  • Manage the Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition process
  • Prepare cash flow forecast and manage cash flow for the region
  • Liaise with auditors, company secretary, and tax agents to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and filings
  • Develop and adhere to accounting policies and procedures. Review existing policies and implement standardization where possible
  • Lead and liaise effectively with cross-functional teams for finance-related projects such as system implementation, new business operations
  • Improve the efficiency of the accounting process by suggesting updates and automation
  • Provide training, guidance, and direction to employees to ensure work is performed in an efficient, timely, and knowledgeable manner.
  • Review internal control systems and address all issues raised by the internal audit department

your profile

  • A basic degree in Finance/Accountancy/Business Studies
  • Must have a professional qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW CIMA
  • 10 years of relevant working experience including 3 years at an audit firm
  • Must have very good knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Applications.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good problem-solving skills – able to plan and deliver solutions independently
  • Able to work in a matrix organization and communicate well with different stakeholders
  • Experience in Hyperion and accounting standards /taxation of Asia Pacific Countries will be advantageous.
