Their portfolio consists of mainly commercial and residential projects as well as industrial project construction. Currently they are looking to hire a General Manager to head their Construction Arm.
about the job
- To develop and execute the overall strategic direction of the in-house contractor.
- Overall project management, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of resources such as manpower, materials, and equipment.
- To ensure that projects are executed according to specifications, budgets, and time lines, while also addressing any challenges or changes that may arise during construction.
- To manage teams of construction professionals ensuring that teams work cohesively towards project goals.
- To manage finances of the construction projects, budgeting, cost estimation, monitoring expenses, and financial reporting.
- To manage clients and stakeholders, effectively communicate project progress, address concerns, and manage expectations.
- To ensure overall project quality, health, safety and environmental compliance are adhered.
- Tendering of new projects, identifying and pursuing new construction opportunities, supporting in proposals, and negotiating contracts.

about the team
You will be heading the construction arm, directly reporting to the Managing Director. You will be managing a team of construction professionals including the project director, project managers, project engineers, site supervisors and administrative staff.
skills and experience required
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 15 years experience. Relevant experiences in construction of residential, commercial and industrial building projects.
- Preferably working with main contractors/ in-house contractor for the recent 5 years.
- Ability to understand and integrate engineering concepts while effectively managing contracts, budgets, schedules, and relationships
- Open to Malaysians only
