About the role

As part of the GL team, you will be involved with the day-to-day accounting activities to comply with company policies, local regulations and standards in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Manage and control the suppliers, customers, fixed assets and chart of accounts master data including creation, modification and review.
  • Generate general ledger vouchers and review journal entries made by other functions to ensure accuracy of accounting records.
  • Arrange and monitor month-end closing tasks to ensure smooth and sufficient closing process within timeline.
  • Responsible for various GL reports such as group/management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliation reports.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet meetings to fix monthly report and work out solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits to provide required information timely and accurately.
  • Support other team members from the centre on achieving team and individual goals, ensuring that high level of accuracy is achieved
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement on process optimization.
  • Timely response to local entities queries.

Skills and experience required

  • Possess at least a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
  • Professional accounting qualification would be an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in GL, preferably in MNC.
  • Good knowledge of GL & accounting principles, activities and processes.
  • Able to perform within tight datelines in a high volume environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work well in a team.
