About The Role

You will be responsible for providing guidance to business when it comes to advising and interpreting policies and controls related to Credit Management. The employer is looking for a Risk Professional that possess excellent communication, strong leadership qualities and people's skill to support the strategic expansion business mainly focused in Credit Management.

Duties

To manage and overseas the day to day operations and functions of the department that cover the following:

  • To formulate and promptly review the Bank’s credit management related procedures,manuals and guidelines under the purview of the department.
  • To ensure effective management of pre-disbursement activities that cover the perfection of security documentation in accordance to the regulatory and Bank's guidelines / policies as well as to ensure conditions precedent / pre-drawdown conditions have been complied with.
  • To ensure effective management of disbursement activities that cover the system inputs,approval process of the disbursement / draw down / rollover in accordance to the approved conditions, the Bank's guidelines / policies and prevailing regulatory requirement.
  • To ensure effective documents and filing management which includes but not limited to tracking, control and act as custodian of original credit files, loan and security documents.
  • To ensure effective management of post disbursement and credit surveillance activities that include independent monitoring of the loan repayments, managing rollover and other loan administration requests, to ensure relevant parties are working on the compliance of post disbursement conditions (including security ratio) as well as to promptly highlight to the Management if any sign of deterioration is detected, via multiple sources of information, including but not limited to occurrence of events of default.
  • To ensure effective management of loan recovery and rehabilitation function that includes identification, managing and monitoring of watch list accounts. To act as administrator and secretariat of loan recovery working committee/task force (if any).
  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely preparation and submission of periodic / ad-hoc credit management / administration reports, Head Office reports and reports related to Bank Negara Malaysia and Parent Bank.
  • To monitor and ensure Lending Units are to promptly conduct annual review of credit facilities aims at obtaining timely approval for the renewals.
  • To attend and handle loan administration related requests / matters from customers (including the authorized parties that representing customers) including but not limited to request for loan information, loan redemption / settlement requests etc.
  • To act as the administrator of the Bank’s loan system. To ensure timely maintenance and update of credit information and position into the loan system. To lead the initiative of matters related to maintenance and upgrades of loan system including seeking necessary supports from relevant parties / departments.
  • Work closely and collaborate with other departments to achieve the common objective of the Bank.
  • Organizing periodic / adhoc training related to loan system, loan administration and other credit checking systems to the respective users.
  • To ensure the department’s staffs are equipped with necessary knowledge and skills in handling the tasks assigned and to facilitate their career advancement.
  • Undertake to complete ad-hoc assignments, other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the senior management/board (including Board Committees) from time to time.

Skills & Experience

Education :-

  • At least a Bachelor degree in finance, banking, accounting or equivalent from a reputable university; Masters degree is preferred.

Experience :-

  • At least 8 years experience in functions related to credit management / credit evaluation /credit risk management. Other relevant managerial experiences may be considered on exceptional basis.

Special Skill / Knowledge Required :-

  • Comprehensive understanding of the full spectrum of credit management processes.
  • Best practices of credit management.
  • Credit risk management methodology, tools and techniques.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Business acumen.
  • Communication skills and computer literate.

Competency :-
