about the job

The individual will manage and drive the organisation’s strategic communications initiatives covering public relations, social media, brand, internal communications, and CSR.

External Communications

Define and deliver an effective annual public relations programme in a timely, proactive manner.

  • Initiating and managing the implementation of media communications strategies and ensuring they are aligned to corporate and business imperatives.
  • Setting standards of delivery and raise the quality of output for all communications materials, ensuring that all communications elements meet corporate and legal requirements.
  • Managing the timely production of the annual report including specific content.

Issues Management

Tracking and responding to organisation risks. As a member of the Crisis Management Team, you will be the main contact person for issues that impact the organisation’s reputation.

  • Manage the media in the event of a crisis or issue and providing counsel to the senior leadership team.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the organisation’s crisis management protocol and guidelines in times of crisis to manage and to resolve issues.

Social Media

Driving and managing the organisation’s social media platforms with the aim of growing and engaging the online community to align with the Bank’s strategic priorities.

  • The planning and delivery of creative social media campaigns in line with strategic priorities and business needs.
  • Utilise both organic and paid content to drive customer advocacy and engagement across social platforms.
  • Social listening and agency management.

Brand

Leading and developing the organisation’s brand strategy and development, working closely with the business marketing teams on the development of the brand to ensure a consistent message across all channels.

  • Identifying, developing and executing strategic brand campaigns to drive awareness, consideration and recall aligned to business objectives.
  • Ensuring the organisation’s corporate identity and brand guidelines are strictly adhered to across all marketing collateral and customer touch-points.
  • Manage agencies and ensure performance is tracked against clear KPIs.
  • Manage festive campaigns covering both ATL and BTL.

Internal Communications

Devise and oversee a programme to engage employees and support the organisation’s values-based culture. You will work closely with the senior leadership team, including the CEO, to drive the right behaviors.

  • Developing and executing a bank-wide internal communications strategy in line with the organisation’s strategic priorities, values and risk-based culture.
  • Develop and execute the CEO communications programme.
  • Manage the editorial content published on the Group’s and local market’s intranet sites to promote engagement.

Corporate Profiling

Maintaining the organisation’s CSR programmes, including:

  • Managing the organisation’s annual art competition and related art activities to support the organisation’s position as a patron of the arts.
  • Conceptualise and implement the organisation’s annual fundraiser through the annual run/walk.
  • Ensure the organisation’s philanthropy, partnership and participation initiatives are in line with the organisation’s CSR pillars.

about the manager/team

Reporting to the CEO and the Head of Group Strategic Communications and Brand, this role will work closely with senior leaders from across the Bank and other stakeholders. The team works well and has a good team spirit.

skills & experience required

  • Local Malaysian with a Bachelor Degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Corporate Communications/ Brand/ Social Media/ Internal Communications & CSR.
  • Knowledge and experience of the financial services/banking industry will be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to build trust and win the confidence of senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in transforming traditional public relations teams into digital public relations.
  • Proven track record for delivering successful integrated communications strategies, on time, in full and on budget.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to structure and substantiate a persuasive argument
