about the job
Our client is currently looking for an IFRS specialist, directly reporting to the Finance Director. This role expects you to:
- Gather data and perform calculation relevant to IFRS requirements
- Develop IFRS implementation plan and periodically update the progress to Finance Director
- Create or review a PWC standard work sheet for automated calculating relevant IFRS for example, an Effective Interest Rate
- Lead the local Laos team to reconcile local book vs IFRS book and clearly explain the gap between the 2 standards
- Work closely with ERP implementation team
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure IFRS compliance
- Regularly update any new standards/requirement in relation to IFRS in banking sector
- Perform risk assessment with regards to IFRS adoption
- Support data migration from local core banking system to a new ERP system with no errors
- Ensure IFRS implementation is according to plan
- Provide training to local accounting/finance team including branches to support IFRS implementation
- Other tasks assigned by Finance Directors relating to IFRS implementation
- Update Finance & Accounting Policy, and procedure align with IFRS
about the manager / team
You will be reporting to the Finance Director, who is extremely kind, results driven and is willing to guide team members in order to succeed
skills & experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or similar fields
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, ICAEW
- Have at least 3 years of working experience in banking sector or audit firm
- Computer Literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power-Point
- Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork
- Would be required to relocate to Laos
