Job Responsibilities:

Achieve Motor financial target: Meet or exceed both top-line and bottom-line financial goals for the motor vehicle insurance portfolio.
Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor the performance of the motor portfolio and provide monthly updates to management.
Underwriting Process Control: Ensure that underwriting processes, system controls, policy issuance, and risk acceptance procedures are in compliance with company guidelines and industry standards.
Portfolio Growth: Drive the growth of the motor insurance portfolio towards the target vehicle segmentation mix.
Turnaround Time: Ensure that all inquiries and referrals are handled within the target turnaround time.
Mentorship and Support: Support and guide junior underwriters, fostering their technical excellence and growth within the team.
Policy Compliance: Review and ensure that policy wordings, printings, endorsements, and other related documents adhere to proper guidelines.
System Enhancements: Oversee system enhancements and user testing to ensure they are conducted properly and within specified timelines.
Task Management: Complete assigned tasks from the Head of Motor Underwriting within the expected timeline.
Customer Support: Attend to incoming calls from marketers, especially urgent cases, and provide assistance as needed.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all Motor Underwriting related matters, including risk acceptance, system process reporting, policy wording, etc., are in compliance with guidelines set by BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia) and PIAM (Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia).

Job Requirements:

Possess a recognized diploma or degree in Insurance, Business Study, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Possession of a professional qualification in Insurance is considered an added advantage.
Relevant working experience in the insurance field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
Exposure to multiple insurance business models and markets.
Specialization in one or more areas such as distribution, specific markets, products, operations, etc.
Ability to adapt quickly, learn diligently, and demonstrate strong initiative.
Result-oriented with a commitment to achieving targets.
Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in computer applications, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with multicultural project teams.
Effective multitasking, planning, and deadline management skills.
Strategic thinking and the ability to drive execution.
Interest and capability in leading and developing junior team members.
