    Randstad is partnering with a well established manufacturing company and they are expanding their operation at Malaysia and looking for an Operations Manager as part of their strategic growth.

    about the job

    • To be responsible and accountable for the full spectrum of production functions, including productivity, quality performance, Maintenance materials and job planning, control of manpower, cost optimisation, process improvement, safety and housekeeping, health and environment.
    • Responsible for all Manufacturing on-site activities including Plant safety, Quality, Integrity Management, Production Planning, and KPI driven performance improvement.
    • Identify, recommend & facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence in output, utilisation, quality and cost.
    • Work closely with HSE Manager on implementation with regards to ISO Quality standards and Environment 14001.
    • Responsible for tracking and presenting production line metrics in KPI/Operations meetings and to highlight key priorities for the supporting functional teams to focus.
    • Ensure operations adhere strictly to operating procedures, maintenance programs, quality & safety requirements from recognised quality standards
    • Oversee the plan to make product available on time, safely and at competitive cost.
    • Carry out duties as and when directed by the management

    skills and experience required

    • Possess excellent H&S awareness.
    • Ideally an engineering background, tertiary qualification, with 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques
    • Ability to coach and train others in processes and techniques.
    • A successful track record of change and process improvement and management.
