Job Summary:
As the Personal Accident / Travel Underwriting Manager, your primary responsibility is to support the team in achieving targeted turnaround time (TAT) and accuracy levels, ensuring daily operations are within service standards, and assisting in achieving the target Gross Written Premium (GWP). You will be responsible for underwriting Personal Accident (PA) and Travel insurance business, providing sales support to Business Units, and implementing and monitoring projects and new products.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Underwriting: Perform business underwriting for new and existing (renewal) PA and Travel insurance business within given authority and guidelines.
Portfolio Analysis: Regularly analyze the business portfolio to ensure profitable portfolio growth.
Strategy Execution: Execute strategies to grow the target business in consultation with business units and management decisions.
Service Excellence: Ensure excellent response time within set service standards and provide good customer service to both internal and external customers.
Team Management: Assist in managing resources to achieve an optimum level of customer service by ensuring the team meets underwriting TAT and accuracy targets.
Team Development: Train and develop junior team members to prepare for business expansion.
Policy Review: Regularly review policy wording and product offerings, providing underwriting input to all new product development and enhancements.
Additional Responsibilities: Liaise with Third-Party Administrators (TPA) on underwriting matters or admission to hospitals. Implement and monitor campaigns and new initiatives. Participate in special projects or assignments, such as Business Continuity Planning (BCP) exercises and organizing company events.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with requirements of local regulations, statutory regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Information System Security: Define requirements regarding information availability, confidentiality, and integrity. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, perform risk analysis, and coordinate with the Information System Security Manager to adhere to guidelines.
Data Privacy: Ensure compliance with Data Privacy laws, regulations, policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
Performance Measures:
Achieve Company and Department Gross Written Premium (GWP) and Net Written Premium (NWP) goals.
Maintain a nett loss ratio within company targets.
Achieve 100% TAT for new business and renewal underwriting.
Maintain a high level of accuracy, with an error rate of 2% or less.
