Global Live Media and Events MNC looking for a Sales Director to lead their Malaysian business. Role comes with a lucrative remuneration package with attractive regional career ladder.

about the company:

International and world-renown Live Media and Events Organiser is currently looking for new leadership as part of their growth in Malaysia. They are on the lookout for an ambitious Sales Director to take the next bold step to increase collaboration with leading brands and corporates in the region.

about the role:

You shall report to the Managing Director – and manage local and overseas sales teams in their delivery and development of the business. You will manage a highly driven team, with good reputation among clientele and the industry.

As the Sales Director, you shall:

  • Manage a mix of young and experienced team of B2B Sales, Business Development, Account Management and Customer Service specialists.
  • Develop and assess team core capabilities in hunting new business, retaining customers, bringing value to clientele and winning projects with effective cross-selling; identify areas for improvement and personnel optimisation
  • Allocate, adjust and ensure sales targets, accounts and KPIs for individuals and team are set within justifiable means – in order to meet profit and growth plans.
  • Improve and ensure customer satisfaction, loyalty, returning orders, and launch rates are kept at a high standard.
  • Develop short, medium and long term sales plans, strategies and operations – including workforce planning, workforce retention and recruitment, sales pipeline and forecast, attractive and effective commission structure, etc.
  • Work closely with HR, BI and FI departments to ensure smooth sales operations
  • Determine sales agenda and drive business opportunities and strategies, ensuring healthy pipeline of sales revenue against cost – segmentate accounts according to revenue and brand exposure
  • Develop high-level link partnerships and strengthen long-term relationships; collaborate closely with brand leaders and clientele to promote company value propositions
  • Lead sales campaigns, projects and activity cycles – ensure all deadline and financial commitments are met

skills and experience:

  • Degree in Marketing or any related to Business or Applied Sciences
  • Minimum of 15 years in sales role, with 8 years in a leadership (management) role
  • Highly preferred industries: Media, Marketing, Consulting
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated the following experience:
    • Hands-on experience dealing with annual sales revenue of USD5mio min.
    • Bringing, building and bridging key accounts
    • Operational and sales excellence
    • Short / Medium / Long term planning
    • Team development
