about the company

Our client is a property developer with a golf club in the UK.

about the job

Overall responsibility for the Membership Sales and Marketing role. This includes member
communication and retention, membership sales, budget, and financial controls.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the club’s annual Sales and Marketing Plan as agreed with the Managing Director. This will include budget setting.
  • Achievement of the overall membership revenue targets. This will include both retention and new member generation targets. This will necessitate developing and implementing membership communication plans; existing and new member retention plans and membership marketing initiatives.
  • Manage the computerized membership and visitor system and provide accurate statistical information as required by the Managing Director on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for the marketing collateral of the Club and ensure that all material is correctly published and presented in accordance with the agreed standards, both internally and externally. Including the updating of the Club’s Membership inquiry packs.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of the Club and its operation and work with the team to ensure that all Members’ and prospect queries are dealt with in an appropriate manner.
  • Liaise with catering on the implementation of all marketing activities.
  • Responsible for all costs related to the Sales & Marketing department and ensure that costs are kept within the agreed budget and no unauthorized expense is made.
  • Ensure the correct procedure is followed for all advertising requests.
  • Complete up to date competitor analysis report every quarter for presentation to the Managing Director.
  • Contribute to new ideas and incentives.
  • Be self-sufficient on lead generation for all aspects of the Sales and Marketing plan through effective follow-up calls, initiate referrals, and any other means.
  • Attend monthly meetings and report on all membership sales and marketing activities.

skills & experience required

  • Degree or diploma in any related field.
  • Minimum 5 years membership sales & marketing experience with an exceptional golf club that focuses on total golf experience.
  • Working knowledge on creating membership structures and plans and creating events that will lead to success.
