Client bank is a global leading financial institution catering products such as Commercial Loans, Corporate Loans, Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Mortgages.

Client bank is seeking for an esteemed Securities & Derivatives Customer Service Group Manager.

The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of securities and derivatives transactions.

responsibilities:

  • Serve as an analytical and/or methodological professional in the settlement cycle while supporting a extensive range of internal and external clients, provides leadership to the local Transaction Management Operations and Services division as well as act as a back up to the Director/Head of APAC client delivery and implement objectives that appropriately reflect the Business goals.
  • Manage complex and variable settlement related issues, liaise with multiple teams and departments on varying matters, specify deficiencies, formulate innovative solutions, streamline processes and lead change-the-bank settlement projects.
  • Oversee a complex crucial large professional disciplinary area within securities or derivative settlement, short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources, and exercise control over resources, budget, policy formulation and planning.
  • Keeps abreast with industry changes and growth, identifies cost savings potentials and establishes competent relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Increases productivity and efficiencies by presenting, analysing and validating data to produce added results and oversee the unity of process, operations to achieve desired end results.
  • Aid in monitoring the risk control environments, compliance efforts to comply with policies and procedures and keep abreast of Bank’s operational processes and best practices in developing and perfecting business strategies.
  • Review, optimize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources, including external clients and internal operations groups.
  • Throughly assess risks when business decisions are interpreted, reflecting specific circumstances for the firm’s credibility and protecting Client Bank group, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with relevant laws, rules and regulations, honouring Policies, implementing sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Develops a metrics/customer/market-driven culture in accordance to the departmental priorities.
  • Manages departmental budgets and project executions as defined by the Operating Plan/Policies.
  • In partnership with HR, owns full career path guidance, recruiting, staffing, capacity planning, and retention strategies, including career development for the department.
  • Serve as a mentor and trainer to new or junior level staff on procedures and work processes across multiple departments.

qualifications:

  • 15 years of hands on experience in custody/ops/service, a subject matter expert.
  • Extensive experience in day-to-day operations and management with Banking and Financial Institutions is mandatory.
  • Shown success in coordinating with senior executives and in managing others.
  • Capable managing various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environment.
  • Competent project manager and a great mediator.
  • Consistently exercised clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • General Securities Sales Supervisor Qualification, General Securities Representative Qualification, Securities licensing preferred, although not mandatory.



education:

  • Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience is recognized
