about our client

A leading medical devices company, continuing their successful efforts in bridging the gap between biotechnology and their clients in the medical industry, is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a major role in managing the company’s finances.

about the role

This role will report directly to the Group Financial Controller, dotted line to the CFO and manages a team of 5 people.

  • Managing the full set of accounts:- AP, AR, GL across the APAC region
  • Review and approve journal entries
  • Review SAP financial statements/Hyperion reports ensuring the reasonableness of data entered
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accruals.
  • Support & provide training to the finance team in GL process workflow.
  • Perform monthly vendor master data validation and maintenance.
  • Ensure the finance team prepares Year-end audit schedules and reviews prior to submission to the auditor.
  • Assist Group Financial Controller with year-end audit and tax submission including liaising with the external auditor and tax agent.
  • Lead projects pertaining to finance e.g. new entity set up, SAP implementation, Hyperion projects
  • Prepare/review year-end consolidation of Australia and New Zealand Branch office
  • Assist in budget preparation

skills & requirements

  • A basic degree in Finance/Accountancy/Business Studies
  • Must have a professional qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW CIMA
  • 6 years of relevant working experience
  • Good and strong knowledge of SAP Accounting Software
  • Experience in Hyperion and accounting standards/taxation of Asia Pacific countries will be advantageous.
  • Good problem-solving skills – able to plan and deliver solutions independently
  • Positive attitude, responsible, well organized and meticulous
  • Self-initiative to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as a team and influence others
