about our client

our client is a leading securities provider locally and regionally and is headquartered in London. They are currently looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Executive, to lead the AP function in Malaysia and report to the Financial Controller.

about the role

  • Own and complete Account Payable cycle efficiently, accurately and independently with minimal supervision
  • Ensure all payments are made on time securing required approvals and maintaining internal controls
  • Process electronic and manual payments as required
  • Ensure all documentation including invoices, emails are correctly filed with bank payment records
  • Handle all payment inquiries and liaising internally and externally
  • Ensure the process, record, books are in compliance with group standards and statutory tax requirements
  • Ensure that company payment policies and guidelines are adhered to and escalating when required
  • Review current process, work flow and implement changes to improve efficiency
  • Analyse discrepancies and unpaid invoices
  • Periodically reconcile the AP ledger
  • Assist and provide support for internal and external audits
  • Take up ad-hoc projects / duties as required
  • Liaise with Finance Shared Services other departments / vendors as necessary
  • Support Financial Controller in any ad hoc special projects where necessary

skills & requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
  • At least 2-4 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Experience using Navision, ERP Systems (preferable)
  • Preferably Senior Executive specialized in Finance - General/Cost Accounting or equivalent.
  • Be open minded, proactive, motivated and professional
  • A good degree of computer competency in MS Office
  • Efficient work flow processing with attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and show initiative
  • Must be independent, reliable, dedicated, a quick learner and innovative
