The organisation seeks a Senior Contracts & Legal Advisor to support its local and international business.
about the job
- Ensure that all contractual decisions prioritize the best interests of the company
- Offer clients lifecycle contract management and support as part of the Tender committee
- Draft various types of agreements in coordination with relevant departments including Services Agreements, MOUs, Prebid Agreements, Consortium agreements, and partnering agreements
- Evaluate contracts and identify exceptions and/or non-compliance, develop negotiation strategies, and manage negotiations with clients in collaboration with the Project Manager and Commercial team.
- Assist in resolving significant deviations from vendors in purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
- Manage and coordinate interactions with external law firms on behalf of the company's senior management and with internal and external auditors to ensure all necessary documents are available for audits when required.
- Evaluate and provide advice to the Senior Contract Manager on contractual conflicts and client claims. In case of disputes, offer guidance on the company's position and the information required for defense or pursuit of such claims.

about the requirement
- Recognised degree in areas such as Law or Quantity Surveying.
- Proficiency in negotiation, drafting, and advisory on contracts as well as business transactions.
- Comprehensive expertise in oil and gas sector contracts, covering procedures, policies, and systems.
- Familiarity with non-contractual aspects such as engineering and construction to offer appropriate contract-related assistance.
- Candidates with Professional Certification in Contracts Management will have an added advantage.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in problem analysis and strategic thinking for improved solutions.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- 7-10 years’ experience in Contracts Management from the preparation, submission and conclusion of claims
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
