Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Reporting Senior Executive / Assistant Manager to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. This role is critical in providing insights that drive strategic decision-making and maintaining stakeholder confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Coordinate and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated with the latest financial regulations and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards).
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and implement necessary changes in financial reporting processes.
Internal Controls:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of internal controls, identifying areas for improvement.
Audit and Taxation:
- Liaise with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Support the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
Financial Analysis:
- Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and support business operations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
