about the job

You will be pioneer in the setup of regional statutory reporting & tax compliance team, reporting into a regional leader, with main responsibilities below:

  • Ensure financials are prepared in accordance with corporate policies, US GAAP and local statutory recognized accounting practices.
  • Manage and maintain accounting policies and controls.
  • Review and approve statutory reports (US GAAP, local GAAP), coordinate quarterly balance sheet reviews, coordinate relevant group reporting and assist corporate tax in maintenance statutory chart of accounts for taxes purpose.
  • Lead statutory compliance to ensure all legal entities fully comply with all local taxes, business laws and regulations.
  • Partnership with various stakeholders to accomplish team/department mission and objectives and supporting business initiatives and projects.
  • Stay alert and maintain knowledge in current development in taxes, company law that could impact business and escalate to the appropriate channels for action.
  • Review and approve all direct and indirect tax related matters/compliance such as returns, computations, schedules, payments, forecast and all relevant US & local tax compliance.
  • Involved in coordination of external audits planning and review final adjustments for statutory reporting.
  • Support the finance transformation projects and initiatives by providing expertise advise of the US & local statutory & tax requirements.
  • Perform periodic testings and controls to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Provide leadership and support to the team members in achieving goals, objectives and career development.

Skills and experience required

You, the aspiring candidate should possess:

  • A university degree with major in accountancy or qualified accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW etc).
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in similar capacity, with proven track record of regional statutory & tax capabilities.
  • Experience working with MNC status companies and regional exposure within shared services will be required.
  • Experience in leading business project & initiatives and capable of managing multiple regional stakeholders.
  • SAP experience is mandatory.
  • Strong leadership skills is required, to be able to be a pioneer in the set up and hiring.
  • Good communication and analytical skills with all levels, globally.
  • Flexibility in tight time frames, minimal supervision and traveling requirements.
