the role
- Supports bio compatibility and toxicology processes initiated by department management, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and alignment of related data with business goals, Global Preclinical objectives, and Quality Management System standards.
- Prioritises patient safety and product quality in all tasks.
- Conduct biological evaluations and toxicology risk assessments to meet divisional objectives.
- Provides input on regulatory requirements for medical device submissions, contributing to procedures, techniques, and strategies for bio compatibility and toxicology programs at the divisional level.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on bio compatibility and toxicology matters for medical devices and pharmaceutical materials, including issues related to animal-derived materials, colour additives, chemical exposure assessments, and other assigned toxicological concerns.
- Collaborates with internal teams to address bio compatibility and toxicology challenges, providing support in problem-solving and chemical risk assessments.
- Advises on bio compatibility, chemistry, and toxicology testing for new investigations and strategic device development initiatives during Technology and Product Development programs (TDP/PDP).
- Participates in bio compatibility training programs for device development teams, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
the experience
- Should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical device bio compatibility
- ISO13485 and ISO10993 certified
- Experience with regulated authorities is also desirable.
