Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Underwriting Assistant Manager to join our reputable insurance company in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of underwriting processes, particularly in Financial Lines risks, and possess a minimum of 3 years of general insurance experience with exposure to underwriting in Directors and Officers (D&O), Professional Indemnity, and Cyber insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting Expertise: Demonstrate a strong and comprehensive understanding of underwriting principles and processes, particularly in Financial Lines risks, including D&O, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber insurance.
Risk Assessment: Assess and evaluate insurance risks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company guidelines and policies.
Policy Analysis: Analyze insurance policies, identify coverage gaps, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients and brokers to gather necessary information, answer inquiries, and provide expert advice on insurance coverage.
Underwriting Process: Oversee and manage the underwriting process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy at all stages.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the underwriting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for risk improvement and pricing adjustments.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company underwriting standards.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the general insurance industry.
Proven experience in underwriting, with a focus on Financial Lines risks, including D&O, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber insurance.
Solid knowledge of underwriting principles, processes, and best practices.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, brokers, and team members.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
Well-versed in insurance regulations and compliance.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., Risk Management, Business, Finance).
