Key Responsibilities
1. Monthly Closing & Financial Reporting
- Manage the full spectrum of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process for the Penang plant.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with MFRS/IFRS and internal group policies.
- Prepare and analyze monthly management reports, providing variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) and commentaries to the Senior Leadership team.
- Oversee the accuracy of the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements specific to plant operations.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises for the plant.
- Collaborate with department heads (Production, Engineering, Logistics) to develop realistic financial targets and monitor spend against allocations.
- Manage cash flow forecasting to ensure the plant has sufficient liquidity for upcoming project finance and operational requirements.
3. Costing & Operational Analysis
- Supervise the month-end costing process, including finished goods valuation.
- Partner with the production team to ensure the ERP system accurately reflects actual manufacturing activities and inventory movements.
4. Compliance & Internal Controls
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies (LHDN, Customs) for statutory compliance.
- Strengthen internal controls and process flows within the plant to safeguard company assets and ensure audit-readiness.
- Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX) for plant upgrades and new equipment installations.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MIA) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Soft Skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate complex financial data into simple, actionable insights for non-finance managers.
