Our client, a highly established manufacturing company in the steel industry. To support their continuous operational excellence and facility management, they are actively looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, Electrical to join their plant.
About the Role
Reporting to the plant leadership, you will primarily be in charge of overseeing the electrical maintenance for the melt shop and rolling mill. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Planning, coordinating, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshooting and resolving electrical faults promptly to minimize production disruptions and equipment downtime.
- Managing the electrical spare parts inventory, ensuring that critical components are always available while optimizing overall stock levels.
- Championing continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing existing electrical systems, reducing plant energy consumption, and enhancing overall equipment reliability.
- Ensuring the company's Quality System procedures and work instructions are strictly implemented and maintained according to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards.
Skills and Experience Required
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments. Candidates with direct experience in the steel industry will have an added advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, automation, and advanced troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and various maintenance reporting tools.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Candidates who are able to converse in Mandarin are highly preferred to effectively communicate with counterparts from China.
