About the Company
Our client is a highly established and prestigious property development and construction group headquartered in Kuala Lumpur. Known for driving large-scale commercial, residential, and strategic infrastructure developments, they are currently seeking a high-caliber Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial stewardship, drive corporate expansion, and lead overall group financial strategy.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), the CFO will serve as a vital commercial partner to executive management and the Board of Directors. You will oversee the Group's financial health, treasury, corporate planning, capital allocation, risk management, and strategic M&A/joint-venture initiatives to ensure long-term commercial sustainability and shareholder value.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Corporate Planning
- Financial Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the Group’s long-term financial strategy, funding models, reserve planning, and cash flow governance.
- C-Suite & Board Advisory: Provide sound financial and commercial advice to the GCEO and Board of Directors on financial performance, growth strategies, and key investment decisions.
- Financial Transformation: Drive business improvement, financial digitalization, and process enhancement to elevate planning capabilities and operational control.
2. Financial Management, Treasury & Performance
- Financial Reporting & Governance: Take overall ownership of group-wide financial reporting, annual budgeting, expenditure analysis, and financial projections.
- Treasury & Capital Raising: Oversee group liquidity, debt portfolios, banking relationships, and capital funding readiness to support active project developments.
- Cost Optimization: Promote strict financial discipline, optimal asset utilization, and resource allocation across all functional divisions.
3. Corporate Finance, Investments & M&A
- Investment Evaluation: Lead financial evaluations, risk assessments, and return analysis for new business initiatives, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A opportunities.
- Commercialization: Support organizational growth by executing portfolio diversification and commercialization strategies.
4. Governance and Risk Compliance
- Risk & Controls: Enhance internal financial controls, enterprise risk management strategies, and regulatory compliance policies.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure total adherence to statutory, accounting, legal, and taxation requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, MIA, ICAEW) or an MBA is highly desirable.
- Experience:
- 15 to 20 years of total working experience, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial or C-suite capacity.
- Proven track record within the Property Development or Construction industry is highly preferred.
- Key Competencies:
- Proven expertise in securing and managing capital funding initiatives.
- Demonstrated background in portfolio diversification, commercialization strategies, and business performance monitoring.
- Exceptional leadership grounded in high integrity, ethics, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
