key responsibilities:
- Design, construct, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and pipelines.
- Architect and implement data processing pipelines using Python and PySpark.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize data workflows utilizing AWS services, specifically S3, Lambda, and Redshift.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across all data storage and processing systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver actionable infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex data incidents.
requirements:
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related data infrastructure role.
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python and PySpark for complex data transformation and pipeline development.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Deep, hands-on expertise with the AWS ecosystem—specifically AWS S3, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Redshift.
- Data Modeling: Solid understanding of database architecture, data warehousing concepts, and SQL optimization.
nice to haves:
- Prior experience in software engineering, demonstrating a strong grasp of software development lifecycles, version control, and CI/CD practices.
- Proven experience reviewing, refactoring, and optimizing legacy code to improve performance, readability, and maintainability.
- Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
