Position Summary
We are actively recruiting a Facilities Manager on behalf of a leading global semiconductor and assembly materials manufacturing firm. This role is pivotal in driving daily facility operations, ensuring full compliance with local regulatory standards, and leading key capital projects, including major factory expansions.
The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of hands-on technical management, leadership capabilities, and strategic project management experience within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Maintenance: Direct day-to-day facility management, routine maintenance schedules, and repairs to ensure minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Management: Manage Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations and scrubber systems to maintain strict compliance with Department of Environment (DOE) standards. Liaise directly with DOE and local authorities, managing all compliance documentation and audit readiness.
- Project Management & Expansion: Lead the planning and execution of large-scale factory expansion projects, plant maintenance initiatives, and facility space planning.
- Space & Resource Optimization: Conduct regular site inspections, optimize plant space utilization, and implement energy monitoring and conservation programs.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Supervise third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring strict alignment with site safety protocols, service level agreements, and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance, direction, and technical support to the facilities team while maintaining effective cross-departmental collaboration.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing facilities maintenance with deep technical knowledge of building systems.
- Project Track Record: Proven background in managing large-scale facility expansion and complex maintenance projects.
- Regulatory Expertise: Thorough understanding of Malaysian regulatory compliance, specifically DOE standards, WWTP management, and local authority requirements.
- Attributes: High integrity, result-driven mindset, excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, and a hands-on leadership style.
