About the Job
We are seeking a conscientious, highly analytical Logistics Specialist to oversee and optimize warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation processes. In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex operational data into practical insights, driving space efficiency, and directly managing third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers to ensure cost-effective and compliant execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & 3PL Supplier Management: Oversee outsourced supplier operations for the stockroom and receiving bay, ensuring all activities align with process specifications and global guidelines.
Inventory Analysis & Projection: Analyze inventory across multiple stockrooms (including expiry, Non-Quality Material (NQM), restricted, and scrap stock) and provide risk and depletion projections to site leadership.
Space Modeling & Cost Optimization: Develop space models based on inventory and Material Requirements Planning (M&E/MRP) strategies to mitigate space risks and minimize external warehouse costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Procurement, Finance, and Accounting to drive Just-In-Time (JIT) & Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) strategies, improving inventory turns and manufacturing cycle times.
Scrap Claim Process Management: End-to-end management of the scrap claim process, including processing, settling claims with suppliers/customers, and analyzing financial impacts and root causes.
Audit & Compliance: Maintain full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements; represent the department during internal, customer, and global audit inquiries.
Skills & Experience Required
To excel in this highly systematic role, candidates must demonstrate a strong balance of technical acumen, leadership capabilities, and data-driven problem-solving skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in inventory management and warehouse operations, preferably within a busy manufacturing or distribution environment.
Technical Acumen: Proven experience in space modeling, inventory governance, and knowledge of freight transportation modes, rates, and regulations.
Analytical Skills: Strong critical thinking capabilities, attention to detail, and experience driving process improvements.
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a cooperative mindset with the ability to adapt to varying global time zones, influence cross-functional teams, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
