about the company
Randstad is exclusively partnering with a dynamic, rapidly expanding regional business solutions and corporate services provider. As part of their continuous growth across the Asia-Pacific region, they are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their regional finance hub.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who wants to gain deep international exposure by managing a dedicated portfolio of Australian clients while working collaboratively within a high-performing regional team.
about the role
In this highly visible and hands-on role, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end accounting functions for assigned Australian clients. You will not only manage the day-to-day numbers but also act as a trusted financial partner, ensuring compliance with Australian statutory requirements and delivering accurate financial insights.
If you are looking for a role that offers international market exposure, the stability of a regional corporate environment, and the excellent work-life balance that often comes with supporting Australian business hours, this is the perfect platform for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Set Accounting: Independently manage the full spectrum of financial and accounting functions (GL, AP, AR) for a portfolio of Australian entities.
- Month-End & Financial Reporting: Execute accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis for client review.
- Australian Statutory Compliance: Oversee and prepare documentation for Australian tax requirements, including Business Activity Statements (BAS), Goods and Services Tax (GST), PAYG, and Superannuation compliance.
- Regional Collaboration: Work closely with the broader regional finance team to streamline accounting processes, enhance reporting frameworks, and share best practices across borders.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary finance contact for your Australian clients and stakeholders. Build strong relationships, handle queries independently, and provide commercial accounting advice.
- Audit & Reconciliations: Perform comprehensive balance sheet and bank reconciliations. Liaise with external auditors and tax agents in Australia to ensure seamless annual audits.
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA Australia, ACCA, CA, or MIA) is highly advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 4 to 6 years of solid, hands-on experience in full-set accounting.
- Market Exposure: Prior experience managing Australian accounts or working within a BPO/Shared Services environment supporting the Australian market is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IFRS; familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and local Australian tax regulations (BAS, GST) is a massive plus.
- Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with cloud-based accounting software commonly used in Australia, such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks, as well as intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
- Attributes: Exceptional English communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively partner with overseas clients. A proactive, independent worker who thrives in a collaborative, cross-cultural regional team.
