About the Role
This is a strategic, high-impact role where you will act as a trusted advisor and right hand to the CEO. Your core mandate will revolve around high-level financial analysis, mastering the Group Consolidation process, and leading all statutory and Bursa Malaysia reporting.
Beyond standard financial operations, you will translate complex financial data into actionable business strategies. For the right high-performing candidate, this position offers a direct and structured career pathway to becoming the Financial Controller of the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support & Financial Analysis: Work directly with the CEO to drive strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Provide high-level financial analysis, business performance reviews, and executive dashboards to support commercial decision-making.
Group Consolidation & Bursa Reporting: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closing and group consolidation process. Prepare and execute accurate quarterly financial announcements and ensure timely submissions to Bursa Malaysia and the Securities Commission (SC).
Technical Accounting & Audit: Act as the subject matter expert on IFRS/MFRS. Implement new accounting requirements and advise the business on complex accounting entries. Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Taxation & Compliance: Manage corporate tax, SST, and Withholding Tax (WHT). Prepare initial tax computations, demonstrate an understanding of regional tax requirements, and ensure compliance with MDEC regulations.
Operations & Controls: Review reconciliations, ensure necessary adjustments are taken promptly, and maintain highly effective internal controls. Oversee the meticulous review of the Annual Report to ensure it is completely error-free.
Key Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accountancy. Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, or MIA) are highly advantageous.
Experience: Minimum 6 to 8 years of working experience in finance and accounting. Candidates must have a proven track record in financial analysis and handling full sets of accounts at a group level.
Technical Knowledge: Deep, hands-on experience with Group Consolidation and PLC / Bursa Malaysia reporting requirements. Strong grasp of IFRS/MFRS and the Companies Act.
Attributes: A highly capable, independent professional with strong business acumen. You must possess the communication skills and executive presence required to partner effectively with the CEO and manage external stakeholders confidently.
