about the role
Reporting to the management team, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end accounting functions for a group of companies. You will ensure the accuracy of financial records, manage cash flow, and play a critical role in the company’s quarterly Bursa Malaysia announcements and annual statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Full Set Accounting & Operations:
Independently manage and maintain the full set of accounts for a group of companies.
Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely payment processing, collections, and reconciliations.
Perform regular bank reconciliations and proactively monitor cash flow management.
Financial & Bursa Reporting:
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, cash flow reports, and necessary supporting schedules.
Coordinate and prepare quarterly financial announcements and related disclosures in strict compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements.
Assist in the preparation of the Annual Report, Corporate Governance (CG) Report, and Sustainability-related disclosures.
Audit, Tax & Compliance:
Lead and coordinate the year-end financial audit process, ensuring all audit requirements are completed within tight deadlines.
Coordinate and manage industry-specific regulatory audits (e.g., GDPMD), including document preparation and following up on audit findings.
Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure absolute compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, SST/GST regulations, and statutory requirements.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Assist management in budget preparation, financial analysis, and detailed management reporting.
Perform administrative duties and support ad-hoc financial assignments as required.
Key Requirements
Education: Degree, Diploma, LCCI, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant working experience in accounting and finance. You must have proven ability to handle full sets of accounts independently.
PLC Exposure: Familiarity with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and financial reporting for listed companies is a strong added advantage.
Technical Skills: * Good knowledge of GST/SST regulations and tax compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
Experience using AutoCount Accounting Software is highly preferred.
