about the job

• Prepare teaching materials and deliver lessons for A-Level subjects while maintaining professional teaching conduct.

• Assist the Head of Department to prepare and review syllabi and schemes of work while implementing college policies.

• Monitor student performance, maintain attendance and academic records, and report progress to parents, sponsors, and universities.

• Act as a weekly tutor to guide students through university applications and write academic references for UCAS and Common App.

• Invigilate internal and external CAIE public exams, and attend departmental meetings and college events.

• Provide pastoral care to support student well-being, and engage in professional development to update teaching practices and subject knowledge.

qualifications and skills

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in the subject discipline

• A PGCE is desirable if you do not have a teaching degree.

• At least 3 years’ experience teaching A-Level with knowledge of CIE syllabus.

• Broad understanding of academic fields.

• Demonstrate strategies for moving students from A to A*.

• Ability to plan innovative teaching activities to develop student’s thinking skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
