About the Role
Our client is looking for a Head of Applications to build, lead, and continuously evolve their enterprise engineering organization. In this permanent leadership role, you will transition our technology estate from one-off projects to owned products, ensuring our platforms deliver measurable business value. You will champion modern engineering practices, AI adoption, operational excellence, and product ownership to drive our platform's evolution for years to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, mentor, and lead a multi-discipline in-house engineering organization, overseeing Product, Data, DevOps, and Quality functions.
- Drive product engineering by owning roadmaps, discovery, and backlogs to ensure platforms are highly available and actively adopted.
- Lead platform engineering and DevOps initiatives, including CI/CD, deployment automation, and internal developer tooling.
- Champion AI engineering by integrating AI coding assistants, internal copilots, and LLMs into the delivery workflow to boost productivity.
- Oversee data operations, including large-scale data migration, cleansing, and ensuring data integrity by design.
- Partner with business leaders to translate commercial and operational requirements into technical backlogs, and explain technical trade-offs in business terms.
- Manage technology vendor performance, delivery quality, and commercial alignment.
What They Are Looking For
- Proven experience in engineering transformation and building self-sufficient platform organizations.
- Strong expertise in modern SDLC, cloud-native delivery, continuous testing, and modern observability.
- Track record of successfully leading and developing large, distributed engineering teams.
- Technical experience with ERP integrations (specifically D365 F&O), APIs, and middleware.
- Experience managing data migration and cleansing at scale.
- Experience holding build partners or platforms accountable to IP, escrow, and exit terms.
- Prior experience managing multi-country rollouts and dual-running platform cutovers.
- Previous success in standing up platform-engineering and AI-engineering practices from the ground up.
