About the Opportunity
Are you a diligent Compliance Specialist with experience handling AML/KYC, regulatory frameworks, or cross-border compliance within the insurance or financial services sector?
Randstad is currently partnering with a leading global wealth solutions and specialty insurance brokerage to recruit an Assistant Manager – Compliance based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting directly to the Director, Head of Compliance - North Asia, this regional role will support the compliance function for the group's Hong Kong operations, ensuring seamless execution across AML/KYC, regulatory reporting, and cross-border business frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
- Regional Compliance Support: Assist in overseeing and driving the compliance function for the Hong Kong operations, covering regulatory compliance, AML/KYC protocols, periodic reviews, and cross-border business guidelines.
- Stakeholder & Regulatory Liaison: Establish and maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, regulators (e.g., Insurance Authority), and regulatory bodies regarding inquiries, inspections, reporting, or investigations.
- Regulatory Risk Assessment: Identify applicable regulations, evaluate statutory requirements and external trends, and assess compliance risks relevant to the business.
- Policies & Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance controls, policies, and operating procedures to align with internal standards and statutory requirements.
- Advisory & Training: Provide expert advisory support to business and operational units to foster regulatory awareness; deliver compliance training and lead ad-hoc compliance initiatives.
- Issue Management: Report compliance concerns to senior management and collaborate on corrective action plans, timelines, and remediation tracking.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of compliance experience, ideally within the insurance, brokerage, or broader financial services industry.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance products/operations and regulatory frameworks. Familiarity with Hong Kong regulatory requirements (IA guidelines) and AML/CTF standards is an advantage.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin) is required to liaise effectively with North Asia stakeholders and regulators.
- Core Competencies: conscientious with strong project management capability, positive "can-do" attitude, and the ability to work independently within a regional team setting.
