The successful incumbent will be mentored directly by the Group Financial Controller and CFO, with a clearly defined development pathway to assume the Financial Controller (FC) role within the next 24 to 36 months based on performance milestones, leadership maturity, and strategic impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Group Financial Reporting & Bursa Listing Compliance

- Lead the consolidation of group financial statements in strict compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS / IFRS).
- Spearhead the preparation and submission of Bursa Malaysia Quarterly Reports (Chapter 9, Appendix 9B), Annual Reports, and corporate circulars.
- Direct technical accounting treatments unique to high-growth tech business models, including MFRS 15 (complex multi-element revenue recognition, SaaS subscription licenses, service-level agreements), MFRS 16 (leases), and MFRS 138 / MFRS 9 (intangible software capitalization, R&D tax incentives, and financial instruments).
- Serve as the principal liaison for external auditors, tax consultants, internal audit committees, and corporate secretarial teams to ensure timely statutory filings with zero non-compliance.
2. Commercial Business Partnering & FP&A
- Act as a strategic co-pilot to Business Unit Heads, Product Leaders, and the C-suite, translating complex operational data into actionable commercial insights.
- Lead the annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and mid-to-long-range financial planning (LRP) processes across business units.
- Monitor and analyze core tech operational KPIs—such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), Churn Rate, and EBITDA margins.
- Conduct commercial viability reviews, pricing sensitivity modeling, and ROI evaluations for new digital product rollouts, client enterprise tenders, and partnership agreements.
3. Treasury, Cash Flow & Working Capital Governance
- Supervise group treasury activities, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning to support active expansion, R&D deployment, and operational requirements.
- Optimize working capital management, driving debtor aging reductions, billing milestones, and creditor payment schedules.
- Oversee corporate banking facilities, bank guarantees, FX risk hedging, and compliance with debt/banking covenants.
4. Corporate Finance & Strategic Transactions (Succession Focus)
- Actively support the CFO and GFC in corporate exercises, including M&A due diligence, tech asset acquisitions, joint ventures, share buybacks, private placements, or employee share option schemes (ESOS).
- Participate in Board of Directors (BOD) and Audit Committee (AC) meeting preparations, drafting board papers and variance commentaries.
5. Internal Controls, ERP Transformation & Process Optimization
- Continuously review and strengthen the group’s internal control framework, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and delegated limits of authority (LOA).
- Drive digital finance transformation—championing automated financial workflows, Power BI dashboard rollouts, and ERP system enhancements (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) to scale with business growth.
6. People Leadership & Talent Development
- Manage, mentor, and build technical capability across the finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, operational agility, high ethical standards, and cross-functional collaboration.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
