Our client is a premier, automotive systems and components manufacturer supplying major global and local vehicle brands. To support an aggressive strategy of driving internal engineering self-reliance and modernizing shopfloor operations, they are seeking a transformative engineering leader.
This strategic role requires a hands-on engineering leader, not just an office manager. The successful candidate will lead and transform engineering capabilities across the organization, overseeing multiple critical engineering functions. Acting as the ultimate "Mechanical Doctor" for the plant, you will be responsible for balancing long-term strategic process engineering standards with immediate, high-pressure problem resolution (“firefighting”) on the production floor to drive team capability and absolute line stability.
the job.
Lead, merge, and manage multi-functional engineering disciplines across Industrial Engineering (IE), Tooling, Fabrication, and Maintenance & Repair to align all teams toward maximum process stability, uptime, and quality performance.
Take total ownership of identifying and eliminating chronic, repeated process failures (such as heat staking issues and equipment instability) using data-backed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and permanent engineering controls.
Personally lead immediate responses to critical tester breakdowns, major equipment failures, and process abnormalities, ensuring the internal team learns to diagnose and resolve issues independently without relying on external vendor support.
Strengthen internal team competency in automated tester systems, ultrasonic welding processes, and plastic injection/assembly equipment, ensuring a deep team-wide understanding of machine design and functional limitations.
Supervise tooling development, modification, and maintenance structures to ensure tooling meets strict design intent, while improving in-house fabrication quality and turnaround times.
Establish robust preventive and predictive maintenance structures to maximize machine uptime, reduce recurring breakdowns, and close current team gaps regarding design and technical fundamentals.
Partner closely with Production, Quality, and R&D to smoothly execute New Product Introduction (NPI), process readiness gates, and strict quality compliance standards.
the experience.
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a highly relevant technical equivalent.
A minimum of 10 to 15 years of robust engineering experience within an automotive assembly, precision electronics, or high-volume discrete manufacturing environment, with proven experience leading multi-functional engineering teams.
Strong, hands-on technical expertise in equipment troubleshooting, automated tester systems, process engineering layout, and advanced root cause analysis methods.
Solid technical knowledge spanning tooling design, custom fabrication, process control systems, and modern asset maintenance strategies.
Experience in automotive manufacturing environments or highly automated, high-volume manufacturing sectors is strongly preferred.
Must possess a hands-on, results-driven leadership style with the grit to handle high-pressure production environments and a passion for mentoring local engineering talent.
