We are representing a US-headquartered multinational material science leader at the forefront of high-tech hardware innovation. We specialize in manufacturing high-purity complex alloys, advanced ceramic materials, and specialized metal powders that power critical global tech industries—including data storage, solar photovoltaics (PV), and industrial metal 3D printing.
We are seeking a passionate Process Engineer to join our team and lead the scale-up of cutting-edge R&D innovations into high-volume commercial production.
In this role, you will sit at the intersection of R&D and manufacturing. You will be instrumental in executing New Product Introduction (NPI), leading technology transfers from our US Headquarters, and optimizing our advanced powder metallurgy lines to ensure world-class process stability and product quality.
the job.
- Lead Technology Transfers & NPI: Manage the end-to-end process transfer from US R&D to our Penang manufacturing site; execute First Article Reports (FAR) and drive project milestones (Gantt charts, risk management).
- Drive Powder Metallurgy & Fabrication: Provide technical oversight and optimization for process lines including Gas Atomization (GA), Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM), Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), rolling, and sintering.
- Maintain & Improve Processes: Develop and refine Process Instructions (PIs) and SOPs; continuously analyze production parameters to drive yield improvements.
- Problem-Solving & Failure Analysis: Investigate complex process and material anomalies; drive root-cause analysis and execute both immediate containment and long-term Corrective Actions (CAPA).
- Global Collaboration: Serve as the technical point of contact between local manufacturing, regional customers, and our US R&D teams regarding engineering changes and new material formulations.
the experience.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD in a related materials discipline. (Fresh Master's/PhD graduates with strong academic track records in alloy research or powder metallurgy are highly encouraged to apply!)
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Experience: Fresh Master's/PhD graduates OR candidates with 2–5 years of manufacturing experience in advanced materials, metallurgy, semiconductor materials, or thin films.
- Core Technical Knowledge: Strong theoretical or practical understanding of metal powder technologies (Gas Atomization, alloy solidification kinetics, molten stream dynamics, and powder handling/filtering).
- Analytical Capability: Familiarity with material characterization tools (e.g., SEM/EDX, LECO, ICP-MS, or particle size analyzers) and material failure analysis methodologies.
- Project Ownership: Ability to manage technical documentation, NPI workflows, and project schedules effectively.
