Randstad is exclusively partnering with a leading big 10 professional services firm to look for a specialist for the Quality Assurance and Technical (QAT) division in Kuala Lumpur. As environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting becomes increasingly critical, we are looking for a driven expert to elevate their specialized assurance practice.
The Role
This is a highly strategic and technical role where you will be instrumental in supporting the development and delivery of the firm's overarching sustainability assurance capabilities. You will serve as a core Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing critical technical and methodological support for sustainability assurance engagements, monitoring global reporting developments, and shaping the firm's internal methodologies, tools, and training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Engagement Leadership: Lead and seamlessly support complex sustainability assurance engagements in strict accordance with relevant assurance standards, specifically ISAE 3000 (Revised) and ISSA 5000.
- Technical Advisory: Provide high-level technical support and practical guidance to engagement teams on sustainability assurance, reporting, complex disclosures, and other relevant ESG matters.
- Methodology Development: Contribute heavily to the development and continuous enhancement of sustainability assurance methodologies, templates, work programmes, toolkits, technical resources, and best practices.
- Market Intelligence & Training: Monitor emerging sustainability trends, frameworks, and regulatory developments, accurately assessing their impact on assurance requirements. Develop and conduct comprehensive sustainability assurance training for firm partners and staff.
- Practice Growth: Contribute to enhancing the firm's overall sustainability assurance capabilities and service offering while actively supporting proposals and business development activities.
Key Requirements
- Education: A recognized degree in Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., MIA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 - 4 years of relevant working experience in audit and assurance. This must include dedicated, hands-on experience in sustainability assurance and/or GHG emissions assurance.
- Framework Expertise: Strong, practical understanding of major sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, including ISSB Standards, GRI Standards, SASB Standards, and the GHG Protocol.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep, proven technical knowledge of assurance standards, specifically ISAE 3000 (Revised) and ISSA 5000.
- Attributes: A proactive, results-oriented team player with strong problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication & IT: Strong verbal and written communication and report-writing skills in English, coupled with sound IT literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
