about the job
As the R&D Manager, you will lead the New Product Development (NPD) processes from concept to commercialization. You will bridge the gap between management and production, ensuring recipes are seamlessly transferred, optimized, and compliant with national food regulations. You will also play a pivotal role in scaling up production and building a high-performing R&D team.
key responsibilities
- NPD & Recipe Management: Lead NPD processes from concept to commercialization, including shelf-life studies and Technical Data Sheets (TDS). Successfully transfer and adapt recipes from the global headquarters.
- Process Optimization: Drive all development and optimization initiatives for both innovative and renovative projects. Lead trial runs, troubleshoot production line issues, and improve control settings.
- Team Leadership & Development: Proactively design and establish R&D operative procedures. Recruit, mentor, and coach R&D personnel, establishing clear development plans to retain and grow internal talent.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between R&D and Production. Coordinate employee efforts and work closely with Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, and external stakeholders.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure all products comply with relevant country food regulations and meet both authority and customer quality requirements.
about the requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Science & Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Chemistry, Biology, or an equivalent field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of managerial or assistant managerial experience within a food manufacturing company.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of food technology, formulation, food analysis, and fat chemistry (both theoretical and practical).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of food process regulations and compliance requirements.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
