We representing a world-class, global leader in premium audio and acoustic manufacturing in their search for a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Engineer. In this critical role, you will lead a specialized technical team, drive equipment reliability, and spearhead automation enhancements to ensure peak production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Reliability & Maintenance
- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for production equipment and utility systems.
- Develop and optimize maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and availability.
- Analyze equipment performance trends and implement improvements to reduce recurring failures.
- Ensure maintenance activities strictly comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and improve PM checklists, maintenance standards, and work instructions.
Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Serve as the technical expert for complex equipment failures and breakdowns.
- Perform systematic troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Identify failure modes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support production teams in resolving critical manufacturing issues.
Automation & Control Systems
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, servo systems, sensors, and industrial communication networks.
- Support equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and control system modifications.
- Coordinate directly with vendors and OEMs for technical support and system enhancements.
- Maintain reliable backup and version control of automation programs and configuration files.
Technical Leadership
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentoring to maintenance technicians.
- Conduct technical training on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
- Establish engineering standards and maintenance procedures across the organization.
- Act as the definitive escalation point for major technical issues.
Engineering Improvement & Asset Management
- Lead equipment improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Evaluate new technologies, maintenance tools, and reliability improvement techniques.
- Participate in equipment commissioning, validation, acceptance testing, and startup activities.
- Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) and equipment modification projects.
- Monitor equipment health indicators and reliability KPIs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records within CMMS systems.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory and recommend proactive stocking strategies.
- Develop comprehensive lifecycle management plans for key assets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Diploma in Engineering - Mechanical / Electronic / Industrial / Automation.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in a Maintenance background, including a few years of direct technician management.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in mechatronics, pneumatics, automation, PLC programming, and electrical systems.
- Core Skills: Highly proficient in jig and equipment service planning, execution, and result evaluation. Must be familiar with OEE Availability, MTTR, MTBF, and spare part & chemical management.
- Leadership: Proven ability to successfully lead a maintenance team towards performance excellence.
- Languages: Ability to converse fluently in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
- Attributes: A detail-oriented, hands-on team player with clear and concise communication skills.
- Mobility: Able to travel overseas as required.
